Material Test Laboratory was established in 2004 on the basis of technology and machines transfer from American company – Pratt & Whitney. Laboratory’s domain are mechanical testing of metallic and composite materials, mainly high and low cycle fatigue tests, creep tests and static tension tests.
Laboratory is equipped with 26 rigs for fatigue testing, 14 rigs for static tension testing and 36 rigs for creep testing. Tests are conducted according to ASTM standards in air-conditioned rooms which enable constant monitoring of testing conditions. Laboratory is also equipped with the air gun which is used to test the strength of structural elements during the crash tests.
Since 2007 Laboratory has an accreditation of Polish Center for Accreditation according to requirements of PN/EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for fatigue testing and creep testing, and in 2011 has extended the scope of accreditation with static tension testing. Most of testing methods used in laboratory has additionally customers certificates, such as GE Aviation S-400, Pratt & Whitney.
